SMACNA Membership FAQs
SMACNA Membership Eligibility
- SMACNA Regular Membership is available to contractor firms (not individuals) signatory to a collective bargaining agreement that install, fabricate, manufacture or service HVAC, industrial duct systems, architectural sheet metal applications or sheet metal products.
- SMACNA Affiliate - International Membership is available to contractor firms from countries other than the United States and Canada.
- SMACNA Associate Membership in SMACNA is available to persons or firms engaged in selling products or services to the SMACNA contractor membership.
Architectural / Engineering Firms
SMACNA does not have a membership category for architectural / engineering firms; however, SMACNA’s technical manuals are available at a discounted rate to architects and engineers. To review or order at the discounted price, click here to go to the SMACNA Store.
Joining SMACNA - Regular Membership (U.S. and Canadian Firms)
If there is a SMACNA chapter in the firm's location, perspective member firms should contact the local SMACNA chapter. Click here for the SMACNA Chapter Directory.
Firms not located in a SMACNA chapter jurisdiction may apply to SMACNA directly by completing and returning a Direct Membership Application.

Joining SMACNA - Affiliate – International Membership
Contractor firms from countries other than the United States and Canada are eligible for Associate Membership. If there is a SMACNA International chapter in the firm's location, perspective member firms should contact the International SMACNA chapter. Click here for Chapter Directory. (SMACNA has Chapters in Brazil and Australia.)
Firms not located in a SMACNA International chapter jurisdiction may apply to SMACNA directly by completing and returning an Affiliate – International Membership Application (Direct). Joining SMACNA - Associate Membership (U.S., Canadian, International)
Associate membership is available to any person, firm, or corporation engaged in selling products or services to SMACNA and/or the SMACNA Contractor membership.
