Looking as if it could defy gravity, a futuristic tower wrapped in a stainless steel helix is just one of the stunning architectural elements making up the new Los Angeles High School No. 9 for the Visual and Performing Arts in Los Angeles, Calif.
SMACNA contractor CMF Inc. of Orange, Calif., performed work throughout the new eight-building campus, including the school’s centerpiece – a 140-foot high triangular tower and spiraling helix that overlooks the city of Los Angeles from its northern end.

Football fans agree the new Kansas City Chiefs Training Facility in Kansas City, Mo., has scored a breakaway touchdown. The gleaming new three-story facility features an office building for staff, two auditorium-style meeting rooms, locker and equipment rooms, and a player and staff dining area. But the building’s most striking feature is its three-story atrium topped by a football-shaped copper roof – fabricated and installed by SMACNA contractor A2MG Inc. of Blue Springs, Mo.
