Lean construction supports innovative research at new Li Ka Shing Biomedical Center
The new state-of-the-art Li Ka Shing Center for Biomechanical and Health Sciences at the University of California Berkeley recently opened its doors to hundreds of researchers to pursue ground-breaking research to discover the root causes of such diseases as Alzheimer’s, cancer, HIV, and tuberculosis. United Sheet Metal helps construct large expansion for Johns Hopkins Hospital
Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md., has completed a massive $1.1 billion expansion project that included the construction of two 12-story towers—the Sheikh Zayed Tower for cardiovascular and critical care and the Charlotte R. Bloomberg Children’s Center for pediatric care. It is the largest clinical building of its kind in the United States with 1.5 million square feet. Read more
