McDonald Air installs massive air units for Embraer aircraft facility
With the reduction of the U.S. space program, several aviation companies are relocating to Brevard County, Fla., to utilize the area’s highly trained space program workforce.
SMACNA’s McDonald Air & Sheet Metal Inc. of Orlando, Fla. constructed two large paint booths and make-up air units for the new 150,000-sq.-ft. Embraer Melbourne Production Facility in Melbourne, Fla. They completed the job in just four months.

Combined heat and power systems could generate 1 million jobs
Expert analysis from the Oak Ridge National Laboratory indicates that 85 gigawatts of combined heat and power (CHP) could be added to U.S. industry in a cost-effective manner over the next 10 years, reducing business costs and creating jobs. This increase would double CHP by 2020 and reduce annual energy consumption in the United States by three percent—avoiding the need to build more than 200 midsize power plants (those of about 500 megawatts).
