 | | Rep. Steven LaTourette | The Alliance National Issues Conference, April 21-22 in Washington, D.C., gives SMACNA Contractors an opportunity to stand with other union contractors to exert their influence on the House and Senate on important issues. Just announced, Rep. Steven LaTourette (R-14-Ohio) will be a featured speaker on Thursday morning.
Rep. LaTourette serves as chairman of the Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings and Emergency Management, which has oversight regarding the safety of all government buildings and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). This subcommittee has been pivotal in addressing homeland security issues. He also is a member of the Highways, Transit, and Pipelines Subcommittee and Water Resources and Environment Subcommittee.
Mark Shields, syndicated columnist and political analyst, will also speak on Thursday morning. Always topical, always on the edge, his late-breaking observations emerge from a career that spans eight presidents.
SMACNA is one of five associations sponsoring this year’s conference and a new Wednesday and Thursday schedule provides contractors more access to legislators.
Whether you’re a newcomer to the conference or a seasoned vet, concise briefing statements on critical issues will enable you to effectively communicate your messages like a pro.
