2005 Bargainers take note: SMACNA’s Advanced Mutual Gains Bargaining Seminar has been created especially for you.

Scheduled for Feb. 1-2, 2005, at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort in Orlando, Fla., SMACNA and SMWIA are pleased to offer this outstanding training program to local union officials, contractors and chapter executives planning to participate in collective bargaining this coming year.

While most local SMACNA members have participated in earlier mutual gains bargaining programs, the advanced course promises to challenge participants with more complex exercises to strengthen local industry partnerships as they tackle the toughest issues facing the industry.

Led by Bernie Flaherty, the program will prepare labor and management groups to negotiate based on interests without compromising the partnership. Never before has mutual gains bargaining been more essential as bargainers face unprecedented economic challenges such as expanding market share, managing fringe benefits costs while continuing to provide solid benefits, and developing the tools to enter new markets.

Class size is limited to 70 registrants. Registration preference will be given to those labor and management groups negotiating in 2005. At least two labor and two management bargaining committee members must agree to attend the seminar.
