The Capitol Hill-based Washington Senators fast pitch girls’ softball team ended their 2004 fall season on a winning streak with a 20-5-2 record and a spot at the 2005 Winter World Championship Tournament in Orlando, Fla. This was a major accomplishment for the team and SMACNA’s Director of Legislation, Stan Kolbe, who is the team’s head coach. After finishing near the top at the last two World Series tournaments, the Senators are ranked number one in the nation for USSSA girls’ 15U fast pitch teams.

The Winter World Championship, to be held over the February President’s Day weekend, includes the top teams from all over the United States, Canada and abroad.

As two of the team’s financial supporters, SMACNA and the Sheet Metal Workers International Association (SMWIA) wish the Senators lots of luck at the World Championships.
