The critical importance of project coordination on commercial and institutional construction projects is explained in the new SMACNA manual, “Successful Building Project Coordination.” The document, free to members only, updates and expands an earlier SMACNA publication on project coordination. The manual also introduces concepts of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and, how, for the construction team, BIM is all about coordination.

“Successful Building Project Coordination” provides a basic orientation on the key role that HVAC contractors play in project coordination. Covering coordination, project delivery, and coordination methods, the document concludes with an introduction to BIM and a short explanation on the problems involved in topic of data file transfer.
