Jordan Ehrenkranz, of Ideal Heating and Air Conditioning, Santa Fe Springs, Calif., was elected to the SMACNA Board of Directors at the close of last year’s annual convention.
“I am more committed than ever to playing a constructive role in the creation of programs and products that set SMACNA Contractors apart from other marketplace participants,” commented Mr. Ehrenkranz.
First entering the industry as a sheet metal apprentice, he quickly realized that he wanted manage his own firm. “I believe strongly in the quality of union construction and am proud to employ union sheet metal workers,” Mr. Ehrenkranz explained.
“Our biggest challenge as a firm and as an industry is non-union competition,” he said. “There are several people working in construction who do not have the proper training and do not service their clients as well as our SMACNA members do.”
Looking to the future of the firm, Mr. Ehrenkranz commented, “I’m very pleased to be fortunate enough to have both of my sons in the trade and playing an instrumental role in the firm.”
He currently serves as a member of Duct Manufacturers Council Steering Committee, the Labor Committee and the National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee. In addition, he is a SFUA Article X panelist and a member of the National Joint Adjustment Board.
