Detroit company shows its dedication to the community
SMACNA contractor SET Duct Manufacturing of Detroit has made giving back to the community an integral part of its business plan.
The HVAC ductwork fabrication company recently spruced up a playground and baseball diamond just across the street from their 32,000-sq.-foot building, which is located in a struggling neighborhood on Detroit’s Intervale Street.
Six years ago, SET Duct Manufacturing opened its doors when parent company officials at metal processing company SET Enterprises Inc. decided to diversify beyond the metal products that they supplied to Detroit’s Big Three automakers and suppliers.
“It’s pretty much embedded in us that we do have a responsibility to give back to the community,” said Jerry Liddell, SET Duct’s general manager. “Our best asset is the employees that work here.”
