OSHA Reporting Portal Launched

SMACNA’s Safety Bulletin provides details on the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) launch of a "portal" for companies to enter injury illness data.  As the next step to requiring most companies to submit injury and illness data electronically, OSHA has launched the Injury Tracking Application (ITA). The Web-based form allows employers to electronically submit required injury and illness data from their completed 2016 OSHA form 300A.

The (current) deadline for posting 2016 data is December 1, 2017. While contractors may want to wait until December before utilizing the portal, they are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the portal ahead of time.
