Jerry Yudelson is one of the nation's leading green building and sustainability advocates. He led the well-received session “The Business Case: Zero-Net-Energy Buildings” at SMACNA’s 70th Annual Convention last October.
“There is a huge audience of building owners, designers, and facility managers looking for more cost-effective, practical options to applying green building principles to every building,” said Mr. Yudelson. “I'm excited to help bring more focused green building and facility management options to new audiences.”
Mr. Yudelson will oversee GBI’s growth, including the development and marketing of the Green Globes® green building rating system, and expanding use of the nonprofit’s assessment tools, including the Guiding Principles Compliance tool, which supports federal agencies’ compliance with green government requirements.
“The GBI provides tools that are simple to understand, easy to use, and cost effective,” said Mr. Yudelson. He has written 13 green building books, is a LEED® fellow, and chaired Greenbuild’s Green Building Initiative® steering committee, the country's largest green building show, which he helped grow during its first eight years.
The Green Building Initiative is a nonprofit organization and American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards developer dedicated to accelerating the adoption of green building practices. Green Globes® is a Web-based program for green building guidance and certification that includes on-site reviews by an independent third party assessor.
