SMACNA has a free business continuity plan to help you get ready for National Preparedness Month (NPM) in September.
SMACNA encourages members to use National Preparedness Month, sponsored by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), as an opportunity to prepare themselves, their families, and workplaces in advance for a crisis or disaster. An entire organization should be involved in preparing for and recovering from disasters.
SMACNA recognizes how well an organization can respond to an emergency and resume normal operations as the true test of an effective business continuity plan.
To assist members, SMACNA offers a first-step, fill-in-the blank business continuity plan that can be customized to fit a company’s needs, no matter the size. It must be considered a “living” document and have the ability to change as the organization changes. SMACNA’s editable document does just that.
SMACNA recommends that during National Preparedness Month SMACNA members consider creating or updating their business continuity plan in addition to carrying out some of the traditional NPM activities.
The editable version of the business continuity model plan is located under the “Emergency Preparedness and Business Continuity” section the SMACNA Guide to Safety and Health Policies, Procedures and Model Programs. Members can make revisions to the plan to reflect the level of preparedness that best fits their organization. Learn more...
