Feb 2, 2016

Womens_CouncilSMACNA’s Women in Construction Leadership Council continues to build momentum into the new year. The Council is starting the year off with a newly created listserve dedicated to SMACNA women in construction.

Created to provide a networking tool for SMACNA women contractors and chapter executives, the listserve will be an efficient way to exchange useful information within the Council.

Interested SMACNA members and chapter executives can sign up by sending an email request to SMACNA Member Services at

Plans are underway to present a session on women’s leadership issues during SMACNA’s 73rd Annual Convention in Phoenix in October.

The Women’s Council will also host a women’s networking reception followed by a roundtable discussion on the issues and challenges women encounter in construction. Additional information will be available as plans for these events are finalized.
