A champion of SMACNA and an industry leader and innovator for many years, SMACNA contractor Dee Cramer Inc., of Holly, Mich., is celebrating 80 years in business.
Founded in 1937 in his garage by Dee (Devere) Cramer to service residential furnaces, the two-person business has grown over three generations to become one of the country’s largest family-owned heating, ventilation, and air conditioning companies. Now with more than 100 employees and offices in Saginaw, Lansing, Wixom, and Holly, Mich., they serve the residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional markets.
Dedicated to furthering the industry, Dee Cramer served as president of SMACNA National from 1954 to 1955 and received SMACNA's Contractor of the Year in 1983. He retired in 1975, with his son, Richard (Dick) Cramer Sr., running the company. Carrying on his father’s tradition, Dick Cramer was long involved in guiding SMACNA’s endeavors and served on the Board of Directors and as SMACNA National President from 2006 to 2007. In 1997, he was named SMACNA Contractor the Year.
Now his sons, Matthew Cramer, as president, and Rich Cramer, as vice president of service, are leading the company into the 21st century. With its world-class facilities, Dee Cramer Inc. is a forerunner in high-technology and innovation, including building information modeling (BIM) and integrated project delivery (IPD).
Like his family, Matthew Cramer is devoted to the industry and community service. He has served on SMACNA’s Board of Directors and like his father and grandfather, received SMACNA’s Contractor of the Year award in 2011.
Embracing family, honesty, quality, and innovation, Dee Cramer Inc. employs dedicated people, delivering quality. Visit their website at www.deecramer.com.
