Rep. Mike Kelly of Pennsylvania
Rep. Mike Kelly (R-3rd-Pa.) recently toured the shop of SMACNA contractor Renick Brothers Construction Co. in Slippery Rock, Pa., a member of SMACNA of Western Pennsylvania.
Congressman Kelly learned the history of the closely-held family firm, which has been passed down through the generations. This conversation led to a discussion of the need to eliminate the estate tax for businesses and make changes to the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) to allow for composite pension plans.
