Attendees at SMACNA conventions often say that one of the main reasons they keep coming back to the annual convention is because they value the relationships they’ve made with their fellow SMACNA members in years past.
SMACNA’s new online platform, SMACNA Connect makes connecting with members throughout the year even easier—especially for those members who don’t have the time or ability to attend a SMACNA event. SMACNA Connect is available from the SMACNA homepage, or directly: http://connect.smacna.org/home.
Participate in peer-to-peer community discussions. A mobile-friendly platform, SMACNA Connect offers members the opportunity to share advice and connect instantly with other members. Members can participate in this private, professional networking community and leverage the expertise and experience of their peers. Each community discussion has its own landing page, with the ability to post new discussions, search the archives, and upload documents and photos to a community resource library.
Members can also post and receive notifications by email. The platform helps reduce email clutter with the ability to personalize subscription options. Members can choose to receive alerts each time someone posts, or members can receive a daily or weekly digest of all activity. And, members can choose to combine more than one community or receive all communities together. Currently, there are communities for each market sector as well as for chapter executives, women in construction, and safety.
Use the new Member Directory to connect with peers. SMACNA Connect offers several members-only directories, including a powerful individual directory where members can manage their profiles and search for other members by name, company, geographic location, and job function. Members can also update their industry profile by adding their photo and professional accomplishments.
SMACNA members are invited to complete their profile, connect with others, and join a community of interest. By joining the conversation, members can build and enhance their peer network. These discussions will also benefit those newer to the industry who can search for advice and learn from the expertise of others
