SMACNA is launching its first-ever podcast today, Let’s Talk Shop. This first episode features host Angie Simon, president of Western Allied Mechanical and SMACNA’s President-Elect discussing trends and industry impacts of prefabrication with Joseph Lansdell, president of Poynter Sheet Metal.
Let’s Talk Shop is meant to present SMACNA members, and others, with an opportunity to listen to meaningful and valuable conversations between contractors as if they are standing right there and participating themselves.
Having the flexibility to listen to these conversations on the go, at the gym or in the office provides SMACNA members with the flexibility to listen and learn when it is most convenient to them.
The 20-minute conversation focuses on why and how contractors should get started with prefabrication and what cultural shifts need to happen to make the transition successful. As owners of large and small sheet metal shops, Angie and Joseph talk about the issues they have encountered as well as the benefits.
Upcoming episodes include conversations about peer groups, integrated project delivery and BIM, multi-trade contractors, design-build and lean practices, among many others.
