SMACNA has a great tool for providing members answers to some common safety and health issues in the industry. The SMACNA CONNECT Safety Community provides a format for members to post questions and then hear back from safety personnel throughout the country.
The Safety Community on SMACNA CONNECT currently has over 200 participants ready and willing to give feedback on issues such as silica, smoking in company vehicles, cell phone use, and fall protection.
Additionally, on the subject of fall protection, SMACNA’s Safety Department uses the Safety community to broadcast current events and issues affecting SMACNA members such as OSHA standard compliance, toolbox talks, and product safety recalls. For example, SMACNA recently posted a recall notice from Honeywell Industries on the Miller brand MightEvac and MightyLite Self-Retracting Lifelines.
Go to the SMACNA CONNECT Home Page to sign up for the Safety Community as well as the other communities offered by SMACNA.
