SMACNA and SMART have named Project 150 as the official charity for the 2020 Partners in Progress Conference. Founded in 2011, this 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization was originally created to help 150 homeless high school students at Rancho High School in Las Vegas with support over the Christmas Break.
Today, they serve more than 6,000 high school students in need. This includes over 3,000 registered homeless students and over 3,000 non-registered homeless students, as well as displaced and otherwise disadvantaged high school students. Project 150 serves 58 high schools in the Southern Nevada region, and another at 20 high schools in Reno, Nevada with food, toiletries, and other basic living supplies.
During the 2020 Partners in Progress Conference, attendees from both SMACNA and SMART will be packing care packages for homeless high school students that will then be delivered to the Project 150 offices for distribution to those who are in need. Additionally, Partners in Progress has setup a website where anyone interested in supporting Project 150’s mission can donate.
SMACNA and SMART are going ALL IN from February 26-27, 2020 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada to strengthen the industry and win more business. The 2020 Partners in Progress Conference is the perfect setting for labor and management to strengthen their current relationship in a location away from the typical workday pressures.
Registration is now open, and all SMACNA member contractors and chapter executives are encouraged to attend.
