SMACNA National conducted a study last summer to assess our website’s usability. We monitored various stakeholder’s ability to complete tasks and recorded their narration and thinking as they searched.
The end result was a recommendation that we redo the site with a focus on external customer needs (not internal SMACNA department(s), that we remain consistent in terminology across the organization, and that we have a robust search function that is accurate and relevant to topics of interest.
The website rebuild has already started with findings from the usability study. As we plan for a redesign, we want to hear from all of you. How do you communicate with SMACNA? What do you value most on the SMACNA website? What frustrates you the most (if anything)? If you could change one thing, what would it be?
