SMACNA’s 77th Annual Convention will feature two highly accomplished keynote speakers, each with inspiring personal and professional stories of triumph and overcoming adversity that will resonate with attendees.
Their presentations will better equip attendees to stand out as leaders among their competitors in challenging times, particularly in uncertain and distressing ones, much like what our industry is currently facing.
As a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, Wood deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan as a scout sniper and earned the Navy-Marine Commendation Medal. Now, as the co-founder and CEO of Team Rubicon, Jake heads a nonprofit organization that recruits, trains, and deploys military veterans to disaster zones around the world.
He is the author of Take Command: Lessons in Leadership. As a leading veterans’ advocate, Wood has met with three former Presidents and testified before a Senate committee to improve mental health care services for veterans.
A Paralympian and bestselling author, Josh was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer at the age of nine and given a fifty percent chance to live. After a year of chemotherapy treatments, his left leg was amputated.
At age 13, doctors declared Josh cured of the disease, and three years later he started ski racing. In 2006, Josh was named to the U.S. Paralympic Ski Team. His high-energy blend of humor and inspiration will motivate you to elevate your performance in sales, customer service, quality improvement, leadership, and innovation.
