Advocate for critical issues by meeting with your members of Congress when they are back in your home district this autumn. The sheet metal and HVAC industry needs you to fight for the issues vital to the success of our businesses.
Reminder: New OSHA electronic reporting begins 2017
This coming year, submitting OSHA records has a new sense of urgency. Each year, members must post OSHA injury and illness records from the prior year for employee review between Jan. 1 through March. However, new reporting requirements for electronically reporting illness and injury data changes the process significantly.
Off and Running: SMART Heroes Program
The first class of transitioning military veterans enrolled in the SMART Heroes Program is underway. As you know the SMART Heroes Program is jointly supported by SMART, SMACNA and the ITI.
New LJAB Training – Plan to Attend
Conducting a Local Joint Adjustment Board (LJAB) hearing can be procedurally and strategically challenging. SMACNA wants to ensure that chapters and LJAB contractor panelists have the information and resources necessary to meet that challenge.
The SMACNA National offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 4, in observance of Labor Day.
Board approves new strategic plan
SMACNA’s Board of Directors met and discussed numerous issues and approved an updated Strategic Plan to ensure the SMACNA contractor’s competitive advantage in the marketplace.
