High School and Local Union Partnership Delivers Clear Path to Apprenticeship
There is a big demand for skilled workers in Louisiana. About five years ago, Local Union 214, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, sought out a partnership with nearby Doyle High School and together they created a sheet metal apprenticeship program that offers students a chance to join a dwindling sheet metal workforce and receive an attractive wage package.
ENR New England Names Cannistraro as Specialty Contractor of Year
Noted for their “fearless innovation,” SMACNA contractor J.C. Cannistraro LLC, one of the largest mechanical contractors in New England, has been named the first-ever ENR New England Specialty Contractor of the Year. The growing company will be featured in the May edition of ENR England.
Chapter in the News: Georgia-SMACNA Represented at Senatorial Luncheon

Trimble to Buy Privately-Held Viewpoint
Software company Trimble recently announced it would acquire privately-held Viewpoint from investment firm Bain Capital in an all-cash deal valued at $1.2 billion as it looks to expand its services in the construction sector.
