SMACNA’s Industrial Committee: Here to serve you

Mar 11, 2016

The industrial marketplace is a conglomeration of many types of work: food, pharmaceutical, steel, petroleum/chemical, automotive, pulp and paper, power generation, coal, agricultural, steel, hospitals, and laboratories, to name only a few.

How can SMACNA serve the many, varied needs of members in this diverse marketplace?

SMACNA’s Industrial Contractors Council Steering Committee is made up of industrial contractors tasked with representing their fellow contractors and providing targeted high quality programs and services to them. The group responds to issues and trends impacting members’ businesses and establishes liaisons with industry groups to increase the industrial members’ market visibility.

Some of what the committee accomplishes is evident at SMACNA’s annual convention via the Industrial Market Sector Forum. The 2015 program focused on market opportunities in the rail industry and industrial training innovations from the International Training Institute.

You can see what the committee has been up to on the Industrial Market Sector Council’s Web page.

Recent topics of interest to this eclectic group include:

  • Rail Transportation
  • Combined Heat and Power
  • Waste Heat Recovery
