Noted for their “fearless innovation,” SMACNA contractor J.C. Cannistraro LLC, one of the largest mechanical contractors in New England, has been named the first-ever ENR New England Specialty Contractor of the Year. The growing company will be featured in the May edition of ENR England.
“Their success is a testament to the Cannistraro family management team, which has taken some of the most difficult challenges facing our industry head on,” said John Ferrante, associate executive director of SMACNA Boston. “They had a pretty big year and are raising their profile in the city.”
The growing company, headquartered in Watertown, Massachusetts, recently moved into one of Boston’s hottest development areas, the city’s booming Seaport District, where they are consolidating their prefabrication and assembly plants.
“They are taking it right to the heart of it, right into downtown Boston,” Ferrante noted. “And they are out leading in the marketplace. They are not afraid to lead.”
“Whether through consolidation in the industry, the growth of pre-fabrication in multi-trade shops, or diversity of the union workforce, Cannistraro is at the forefront of the industry,” he added. “They are continuously improving their business.”
The firm has 800 employees including 200 in the office and 600 in the field. Current projects include Seaport Square, Harvard University’s Science and Engineering Complex, and One Kendall Square.
