New Report Aims to Eliminate Injuries

PTD x212One of the best ways to prevent and control occupational injuries, illnesses, and fatalities is to "design out" or minimize hazards and risks. A national initiative called Prevention through Design (PtD) promotes this concept.

A new report on PtD, A Life Cycle Approach to Safety and Health in the Construction Industry is now available to the construction community. It is published by the American Society of Safety Professionals and provides information and guidance on a “life cycle design” approach to building construction.

The goal of PtD is to reduce or eliminate injuries, illness, and fatalities throughout the entire process of building construction, operation, maintenance, retrofit, and demolition. Read more...
