SMACNA’s Technical Services Team Travels to British Columbia

IMG_0673 600x450SMACNA’s technical services department traveled to British Columbia to present an intensive one-day program on SMACNA’s Technical Standards. The event was held on March 22 in partnership with the SMACNA British Columbia Chapter (SMACNA-BC) and the ASHRAE British Columbia Chapter (ASHRAE BC). The team presented to 63 ASHRAE BC Members and 29 SMACNA-BC Members.

Bruce Sychuk, SMACNA-BC Executive Director, noted that, “the event was awesome. Everyone in attendance commented on how good the program was.”

IMG_0669 600x406The team covered concepts from SMACNA’s technical manuals, including the HVAC Duct Construction Standards, HVAC Air Duct Leakage, HVAC Systems Duct Design, and the Fire, Smoke and Radiation Damper Installation Guide for HVAC. Those in attendance were able to  earn five professional development hours.

BC technical displaySamples of duct were on display so that attendees could physically touch and see the technical data in real life.
