SMACNA contractor Warren Roofing and Insulating Co., Walton Hills, Ohio, recently completed an architectural project at the new Gateway Medical Office Building in Akron, Ohio. The contractor fabricated all wall panel trim, copings, and roof flashing, as well as installed the panels, trim, copings, and flashing.
“The most difficult part of the project was to incorporate custom window trim and copings into the pre-manufactured wall panels,” said Warren Roofing President Trevor Cost.
This three-story medical office building is located in the Park West development. Fresenius Medical Care occupies two separate spaces in the Gateway building. The first-floor practice provides space for outpatient dialysis treatment. The build-out included a dialysis area with 16 treatment bays, a nurse station, conference rooms, staff lounge and lockers, reception area, and water treatment room.
The second floor provides space for Akron Home, a training center for in-home therapy treatment providers. It includes a home therapy suite with seven training rooms, administrative office space, a training/conference room, patient consultation room, break area, and tech repair room.
For the project, Warren Roofing used Zalmag, a galvanized coating on steel that consists of 11 percent aluminum, 3 percent magnesium, and zinc. The coating weathers from silver to bluish gray over a few months of exposure to the elements. It arrests corrosion and requires little maintenance.
For 94 years, Warren Roofing and Insulating Co. has been providing roofing services for clients who value honesty, attention to detail, safety, and reliability, with highly skilled employees who take great pride in their work.
