MAUI, HAWAII — Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA) 2017 President Joseph Lansdell will present a $5,000 donation to Dr. Kathleen Dimino to benefit the Maui public schools during SMACNA’s 74th Annual Convention on Oct. 25.
“Teachers don’t always have the financial resources they need to help students learn,” President Joseph Lansdell said. “That is why SMACNA is giving $500 each to 10 Maui high school teachers who work with students in pursuing careers in construction and engineering.
“This donation is another way we can indirectly be mentors to young people interested in entering the construction industry.”
Dr. Kathleen Dimino is complex area superintendent of the Baldwin-Kekaulike-Maui Complex Area in Maui, Hawaii.
Each year SMACNA makes a donation to a local charity in the convention host city.
SMACNA, an international trade association representing 3,500 contributing contractor firms, is a leader in promoting quality and excellence in the sheet metal and air conditioning industry. SMACNA has national offices in Chantilly, Va., outside of Washington, D.C., and on Capitol Hill. Visit www.smacna.org.
