MAUI, HAWAII—Gary G. Luthe Sr., president and CEO of Luthe Sheet Metal Inc., Cherry Hill, N.J., was elected to the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association’s (SMACNA) Board of Directors. His four-year term began on Oct. 25 at the close of SMACNA’s 74th Annual Convention.
“I have held virtually every local position and would like to contribute more to the industry,” Luthe said.
A forward-thinking and all-around industry leader, Luthe has served on SMACNA’s Director Nominating Committee and as chapter councilor to SMACNA’s Council of Chapter Representatives.
Having held nearly every position with the Sheet Metal Contractors Association of Philadelphia and Vicinity (SMCA) chapter, Luthe has served as the chapter’s president, vice president, and secretary treasurer. He currently serves on the chapter’s board of directors and as chair of the SMCA Director and Officer Nomination Committee. He co-chairs the JATC Trustees and is on the local Joint Adjustment Board. Mr. Luthe also chairs the Northeast States Council of Sheet Metal Contractors, an independent association of contractors, which is loosely affiliated with SMACNA.
He has been an Industry Fund trustee as well as a trustee of the Local No.19 Scholarship Fund and the Brotherhood, Unity, and Dignity Fund. He has chaired the chapter’s Safety Committee and served on the Sheet Metal Industry Advancement Committee (LMCC) and the Negotiation Committee.
He entered the sheet metal industry in 1982 and established his company, Luthe Sheet Metal Inc., in 1993.
