First Lady Dr. Jill Biden
November 14th marked the beginning of National Apprenticeship Week, and officials from the Biden Administration held an event in Chicago to commemorate the beginning of the effort. First Lady Dr. Jill Biden was joined by Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh, and Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona. All of the speakers talked about the need to promote Registered Apprenticeship programs as an alternative to a traditional four-year college and as an engine for economic growth.
SMACNA is commemorating National Apprenticeship Week by lifting up and celebrating all the apprentices and the excellent work they do while building skills in the classrooms. SMACNA and SMARTs Registered Apprenticeship Program provides amazing benefits to people who want to earn and learn at the same time and have chosen a career path that does not include college.
