Planning Your Exit and Business Valuation Program Returns This November

This program is a must-attend for SMACNA contractors intending to retire from, transfer, or sell their business in the next 5-10 years. Participants will work with experienced transition consultants to develop a personalized exit strategy.

SMACNA’s Planning Your Exit and Business Valuation program is scheduled for November 5-7, 2023, in San Diego, CA. This program was developed for business owners considering retirement from, transfer of, or selling their business within the next five to ten years. John Ovrom, Founder/President of Exit Consulting Group, and Andrea Steinbrenner, CEO of Exit Consulting Group will lead discussions on the business exit and sales process including owner/business/market readiness, and exit options.

Participants will learn how to review and assess the value of their companies by evaluating all aspects of the business from marketing and operations to financial and withdrawal liability. Participants will also learn about the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to consider when planning a business exit.

In outlining the value of the program, Ovrom said: This program is first and foremost a workshop to educate SMACNA contractors. When thinking of exiting a business, the exit is the main thing that business owners are focused on. While it is the end goal, there are many aspects to take into consideration and examine before crossing the finish line.

Additional highlights of this program will include an informative and entertaining panel presentation with three SMACNA contractors who have recently exited their businesses. These former business owners will share their experiences detailing their successes, failures, and the lessons learned during their exiting process.

The program will conclude with optional one-on-one appointments for participants to meet with the program speakers to begin development of their personalized succession plan.
