Pomeroy Announced as Moderator for CEA National Issues Conference

Former Congressman will provide insight on legislative and regulatory issues at both the state and federal level.

Hon. Earl Pomeroy

Registration remains open for the 2023 CEA National Issues Conference. This event allows attendees to learn more about the proposed laws and regulations impacting your business and the construction industry as a whole.

The conference, running from May 2nd-May 4th, allows SMACNA members to lobby Congressional offices on issues critical to our industry. It also allows you to network and connect with fellow industry stakeholders.

The event will be held at the Hilton Washington DC National Mall The Wharf. View the all-association preliminary agenda here (agenda subject to change based on speaker availability). Please note: SMACNA-only events being held on the evenings of May 2nd and May 3rd do not appear on the all-association agenda.

In addition, former Congressman Earl Pomeroy will return as moderator for the Conference. Pomeroy brings 26 years of regulatory and legislative experience as senior counsel at Alston & Bird.

Pomeroy focuses his practice on matters before the legislative and executive branches of government at the federal level and financial regulators at the state government level.

Earl has been an influential participant in financial services regulation over the last quarter century. More than 20 years ago, as president of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, he advanced reforms to strengthen solvency oversight in state insurance departments, substantially improving the quality of state insurance regulation.
