Recap: Project Managers Institute

SMACNA’s popular PMI program returned after a two-year hiatus, and once again sold out while drawing rave reviews from participants.

SMACNA’s popular Project Managers Institute (PMI) was held from April 3-6 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Participants in the sold-out program learned how to effectively manage a project from start to finish by leveraging best practices in leadership and time management.

The program featured presentations from experts in the field, including Richard Reese, Senior Consultant with FMI, and Stephen Staff, Consultant with FMI. Together they provided participants with lessons on the skills needed to be effective project managers. Their presentations featured case studies and interactive projects that offered practical applications for the concepts discussed during the program.

By the end of the program, participants developed skills to strengthen customer relationships and lead dynamic project teams. Emily Pfaff from Dekalb Mechanical talked about her experience at the Project Manager’s Institute, “I went to PMI expecting to be talked at. Instead, I came out of it with clarity for both myself and my professional career. It was so much more than sitting through a seminar. PMI is about building yourself up, conquering the roadblocks you face, finding others who can relate, and helping you build the foundation for creating a bold yet successful future.”

The next Project Managers Institute is scheduled for October 2-5, 2022, and will be held again in Raleigh, North Carolina. A subsequent PMI meeting is scheduled for March 26-29, 2023. For information about how you or a member of your company can attend, please contact Shelly Dixon at sdixon@smacna.org
