San Diego Event Helps SMACNA Members Plan for Their Future

Planning Your Exit and Business Valuation equipped members with information to help plan for the next step in their business journey.

Jon Ovrom leads a panel discussion with two mentors

Over a dozen SMACNA members descended on San Diego for the Planning Your Exit and Business Valuation Seminar. This event was designed to help owners approaching retirement understand their next steps, especially if they decide that it is time to exit their business. Attendees had the opportunity to listen to several speakers on technical discussions regardingmatters such as taxes and the pre-exit market landscape. They also examined the emotional impact of separating from a business that they were instrumental in building, many times from the ground up.

Discussions were led by John Ovrom and Andrea Steinbrenner from Exit Consulting Group (ECG). Both instructors relayed to attendees the best practices for departing from a business and bestowed upon attendees their own experiences. Beyond the group instruction, there was the opportunity for one-on-one interaction with the instructors to answer any questions and discuss the nuances surrounding a particular situation.
