SMACNA’s Brooks & OHara to Present at ASHRAE Conference in Toronto

The SMACNA Round Industrial Duct Construction Standards Manual will be the focus of the presentation at ASHARE’s 13th International Industrial Ventilation Conference for Contaminant Control.

Two of SMACNA’s Senior Project Managers, Patrick Brooks and Shawn OHara, have been invited to present at the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) 13th International Industrial Ventilation Conference for Contaminant Control from June 22-24th, 2022, in Toronto, Canada.

Every three years, ASHRAE’s Industrial Ventilation Conference gathers the top international engineers, researchers, scientists, and regulatory stakeholders to share recent developments on ventilation and contaminant control and mitigation.

Brooks believes that the conference will help designers determine the necessary construction details for the fabrication of round metallic industrial ductwork for design pressures of -30 in wg to + 50 in. wg in duct sizes from 4-inch to 96-inch diameters.

The important presentation delivered by Brooks and Ohara is aligned specifically towards industrial contractors, designers, manufacturers, and owner/operators. Those in attendance will get instruction on how to use SMACNA’s Round Industrial Duct Construction Standards Manual to determine the necessary construction details for round metallic industrial ductwork fabrication, and how to design and specify round ductwork for industrial applications using what the industry regards as the primary reference source for this topic.

O’Hara states that SMACNA members who attend will benefit from “understanding both the simple, low or moderate temperature and pressure indoor systems, as well as the more complex outdoor systems, operating at moderate to high temperature and pressure, and subjected to higher and more complex external loading.”
