SMACNA Joins Other Associations to Promote Construction Safety Week

Safety Directors of SMACNA, MCAA, TAUC, and NECA participate in video series highlighting critical safety issues.

In observance of Construction Safety Week/the OSHA Stand Down to Prevent Falls in Construction, the safety directors of SMACNA, MCAA, TAUC, and NECA released a series of videos designed to call attention to critical safety matters confronting contractors. The primary emphasis was on the OSHA Focus Four (Falls, Caught-In or -Between, Struck-By, and Electrocution) identified as the leading cause of fatalities in the construction industry. In addition, we will look at other high hazards affecting our workers, including heat-related Hazards and the need for Personal Protective Equipment; this video series will provide information that will help you protect your team. - The primary emphasis was on the OSHA Focus Four Hazards (Falls and Struck-By) which are identified as two of the leading cause of fatalities in the construction industry. In addition, we will look at other high hazards affecting our industry, including heat-related hazards, resources for mental health and suicide prevention, as well as the use of Personal Protective Equipment; this video series will provide information that will help you protect your team.
