SMACNA & MCAA Collaborate on Welding Safety Survey

Effort looks to build an understanding of measures meant to protect workers.

SMACNA is collaborating with the Center for Construction Research and Training and the Arizona State University’s Ira Fulton Schools of Engineering to conduct member surveys designed to help industry stakeholders better understand some potential welding risks. We hope the data gathered can further the implementation and usage of safety measures to reduce workers’ exposure to welding-related harm.

Some of the safety measures that will be examined through this survey process include personal protective equipment (PPE), including (but not limited to) shields and ventilation equipment. The survey will also explore other factors, including workforce composition and general jobsite policies related to safety.

By participating in this survey, you will be able to access the final report due in the fall of 2022.
