Stan Kolbe, SMACNA’s Executive Director for Government and Political Affairs, was named one of the top lobbyists in Washington, D.C., by The Hill. The list honors exceptional government relations professionals from the private sector, associations, and grassroots organizations who have made a difference in policymaking throughout 2022. These individuals have used their unique combination of experience and successful relationship-building to advocate for their constituencies.
This year has been highly successful for SMACNA’s Government Relations Department, with significant victories such as the passage of the CHIPS and Science Act, the Infrastructure and Jobs Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act. Coupled with progress on energy efficiency tax incentives and workforce development initiatives and regulations enhancing prevailing wage and procurement reforms, SMACNA has made an impact on the legislative and regulatory fronts. These legislative victories will not only stimulate the post-pandemic economy but provide bountiful business opportunities for SMACNA contractors.
