EBSA Taking Comments on Fund Electronic Mailings
If your fund has an interest in communicating more with participants and beneficiaries via electronic means, then you may consider providing comment to the Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA) in response to its request for information.
Comments must be submitted on or before June 6, 2011. EBSA is soliciting comments as part of its review of the use of electronic media by employee benefit plans to furnish information to participants and beneficiaries covered by employee benefit plans subject to the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA).
The purpose of the review is to explore whether, and possibly how, to expand or modify the EBSA’s current standards for electronic distribution taking into account current technology, best practices and the need to protect the rights and interests of participants and beneficiaries.
