SMAC PAC Prior Approval

Federal Election Law requires SMAC PAC to have a signed prior approval (PA) form on file before it can inform you about political events and activities.

Federal Election Law requires SMAC PAC to have a signed prior approval (PA) form on file before informing you about political events and activities.  Need more information - Watch our video for a quick explanation.

The reason for requiring a signature from our own members is unclear and it applies only to trade associations. We are working to change the law. Until the law is changed, we are asking our members to sign the PA form authorizing up to ten years.  The form can be signed by any individual in the company who is authorized to grant participation authorization such as an owner, president, vice president, senior executive officer (CEO, COO, etc.), or anyone designated to represent the company at SMACNA meetings.

For first time submissions, please complete the form at smacna.org/pac.

To renew your existing PA, visit SMAC PAC's portal to electronically sign the Prior Approval form online.

If you have any questions or issues with the portal, please email smacpac@smacna.org or call the SMACNA Capitol Hill Office at 202-547-8202.
