With more than 30 years of experience leading trade associations, from small, volunteer-run chapters to large, complex organizations, Cheryl brings a deeply practical, chapter-tested perspective to strategic planning. She spent 13 years managing a SMACNA chapter, working alongside Boards to navigate workforce challenges, safety priorities, governance dynamics, and the day-to-day realities of limited time, limited staff, and very full plates.
A nationally certified Master Facilitator, Cheryl has guided Boards and leadership teams through planning processes that work. Her approach combines structure, clarity, and humor, helping chapter executives move beyond “planning theater” to create focused, actionable strategies that align budgets, staff work plans, and Board leadership. She believes strategic planning should reduce stress, not create it, and that a good plan should make your job easier, not harder.
