The SMACNA Executive Committee is the association’s policy and steering body, responsible for all long-term planning, financial budgets, investments, policy positions, and statements.

Angie Simon, President

Angie Simon is SMACNA’s President (2019-2021) and CEO of Western Allied Mechanical in Menlo Park, California. Simon has risen through the ranks at Western Allied Mechanical, starting as a project manager in 1987.Under her guidance and leadership, the company has grown its annual revenue from $60 million to more than $100 million. She is applauded as a trailblazer and visionary for her passion to retain and recruit a more diverse workforce, both at Western Allied Mechanical and across the industry.

Vincent R. Sandusky, CEO

Vincent R. Sandusky is SMACNA’s CEO, a position he has held since 2008. With more than 35 years of industry experience, Sandusky leads SMACNA with the utmost passion for putting members first and prioritizing best practices that strengthen the industry as a whole. Sandusky is dedicated to enhancing SMACNA’s mission to create a competitive advantage for members though aggressive industry advocacy programs, business management education, effective labor-management relations, standards development, industry representation, and member access to world class subject matter experts.

Al LaBella, President -Elect

Al LaBella is SMACNA’s President-Elect (2021-2022) and Owner and President of Blue Diamond Air Systems in Medford, NY. 

LaBella started working at Blue Diamond Air Systems in 2001 after a career in education where he was a High School Football and Lacrosse coach. In 2008, Al and his wife Meghan purchased the family-run company from Meghan’s parents, Bob and Jean Lawless. Bob Lawless got LaBella involved in SMACNA to further his knowledge in the trade and LaBella went on to attend every SMACNA educational program offered including BMU, Financial Boot Camp, and Supervisor Training to name a few.

Anthony Kocurek, Secretary-Treasurer

Tony Kocurek is SMACNA’s Secretary-Treasurer (2019-2021)and Owner of Energy Balance & Integration, LLC in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Kocurek began his career in the sheet metal industry in 1982 as an apprentice at Energy Balance, a company specializing in commercial testing and balancing of HVAC systems, and held various roles within the company before becoming the owner in 2008. His creative thinking and attention to detail have contributed to the company’s success and evolution.

Carol Duncan, Vice President

Carol Duncan is SMACNA’s Vice President (2019-2021) and CEO and Owner of General Sheet Metal in Clackamas, Oregon. With nearly 40 years of leadership and expertise in the sheet metal industry, Duncan has helped grow the company from 25 employees to more than 180 since becoming CEO in 2000—building a positive corporate culture and keeping both employees and clients happy. General Sheet Metal specializes in mechanical, architectural and HVAC fabrication, installation and repair services for the commercial and industrial markets.

Nathan Dills, Immediate Past President

Nathan Dills is SMACNA’s Immediate Past President (2018-2019) and Owner and CEO of ACP Sheet Metal Co., Inc. in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Dills has been part of ACP for many years, having grown up with his dad at the helm of the manufacturing shop he started in 1977. Since taking over as CEO and owner in 2013, Dills has made it is mission to push forward the company while maintaining its storied legacy. Dills has become a leader in the sheet metal industry and is actively involved with SMACNA on the national and local levels. In addition to his role as past president, Dills served on SMACNA’s Board of Directors from 2011-2015 and previously served as co-chair of the SMACNA/SMART Best Practices Market Expansion Task Force.
