The Real Cost of Prefabrication

Mark Federle will present findings from newly completed research updating the New Horizons paper on the real cost of prefabrication. This session shares fresh survey data and research results showing how contractors are using prefabrication today, how they invest in shop space and technology, and where they succeed or fall short in tracking the productivity gains. Federle will walk through a fictional case study built from the research to show what it actually takes to operate at different levels of prefabrication, giving members a practical framework for measuring the costs, benefits, and tradeoffs of moving more work into the shop.
