Outspoken advocate for registered apprenticeships, prevailing wages, and infrastructure investments tours GSM’s Corporate Headquarters in Oregon.
On March 15th, US Representative Lori Chavez-DeRemer (R-OR) and her Congressional District staff visited and toured SMACNA President Carol Duncan's General Sheet Metal Corporate headquarters in Clackamas, OR. The purpose of the tour was to focus on the immediate importance of extending the equipment expensing and bonus depreciation tax incentive provisions and how they impact General Sheet Metal and the entire sheet metal industry.
Before serving in Congress, Chavez-DeRemer served on the Happy Valley, OR city council as president before being elected mayor. In Congress, Lori has become one of the most outspoken advocates for registered apprenticeships, prevailing wages, and infrastructure investments. She sits on the House Committees on Infrastructure and Transportation and the House Education and the Workforce Committee. In addition, Rep Chevez-DeRemer is a member of the bipartisan House Building Trades Caucus and the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus.
