SMACNA Unveils Innovator of the Year Nominees

The award recognizes an industry pioneer from a SMACNA member who champions innovation and continuous improvement across their company and the industry to be recognized at the 2025 MEP Innovation Conference.

SMACNA is proud to announce its nominees for the SMACNA Innovator of the Year award! These four talented individuals represent SMACNA’s commitment to push the envelope in embracing new tools and techniques in the MEP trades. SMACNA’s four nominees are:

  • Brandon Avila (Superior Duct Fabrication)
  • Jon Desmond (Cox Engineering) 
  • Liz Fong (McDonald Miller) 
  • Dave Pikey (The Hill Group) 

The SMACNA Innovator of the Year award is meant to recognize SMACNA members who are pacesetters and pioneers when it comes to embracing new ways of getting the job done through leveraging advances in construction technology to remain leaders in our space. By championing continuous improvement and innovation, these individuals help to benefit everyone working in our industry.
