Bob Pope Is the 2025 SMACNA Chapter Executive of the Year

Retiring Managing Director of the Sheet Metal and Roofing Contractors Association of the Miami Valley (Ohio) recognized for his tireless work on behalf of all contractors.

Bob Pope, who recently retired as the Managing Director of the Director of the Sheet Metal and Roofing Contractors Association of the Miami Valley (Ohio) has been named the 2025 SMACNA Chapter Executive of the Year.

During his service in the industry, Bob built a reputation as a bridge-builder who values collaboration over confrontation and is regarded as one of the Midwest’s top association executives. Working with his peers in Dayton, Ohio’s Sheet Metal Local 24, Bob helped build and strengthen a training program that sets a standard for integrity, accountability, and innovation in the workplace. This collaborative model for talent development can be considered a standard to be copied throughout the industry.

Bob’s devotion to hard work, fairness, and coalition building has been recognized throughout the construction space, earning recognition at local, state, and national levels. When discussing their work on workforce matters, Local 24 Business Manager Cole Chaney said, "Labor and management aren’t opposing forces; when we work together, we’re stronger."
