The U.S. Department of Labor is offering $12.7 million in Susan Harwood Training Grants to help workers and employers get training and education to spot and prevent safety and health hazards at work.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration runs these grants to improve job quality for American workers. The program focuses on instructor-led training for workers and employers in small businesses, especially in industries where injuries, illnesses, and fatalities are more common.
These grants will pay for training and education on how to recognize, avoid, and control workplace hazards. They also help workers learn about their rights and help employers understand their responsibilities under the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
Applicants can apply for grants in these categories:
Non-profit organizations can apply for these grants. This includes community-based, faith-based, and grassroots groups; employer associations; labor unions; joint labor/management associations; Indian tribes; public and state colleges and universities; organizations that run OSHA On-Site Consultation programs; and OSHA Training Institute Education Centers.
Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. EDT on July 31, 2026. To apply, you must register with Grants.gov and the System of Award Management.
