As Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, approaches, SMACNA encourages you to make sure you are registered, know your polling place, and have a plan to vote.
For sheet metal and HVAC contractors, election outcomes have major financial and policy consequences. Decisions made by elected officials affect infrastructure investment, apprenticeship programs, prevailing wage protections, tax policy, and other issues that directly impact your bottom line, your employees, and your ability to expand your skilled workforce to deliver quality projects.
Your experience as an employer and industry leader matter. More importantly, your vote matters.
SMACNA advocates for our industry’s interests in Washington, DC and state capitals nationwide. We urge you to support candidates who understand our policy priorities and champion our industry. Voting is an essential way to help ensure that your priorities and preferred candidates prevail on election day.
Take a few minutes now to prepare:
Verify your voter registration. Is your registration active and your information current?
Know your voting options. Review the early voting and absentee voting rules in your state.
Make a plan. Find out when and where you will cast your ballot.
Be an informed voter. Learn about the candidates and their positions on issues affecting our industry.
Visit Vote.gov to connect with your state’s official election resources. Use SMACNA’s Early Voting Guide as a starting point, then confirm dates, hours and locations with your local election office.
