First year of effort raised the profile of the need to expose America’s youth to the potential of a career in the skilled trades.
On April 7th, the first National Careers in Trades week was launched. This effort, a collaboration between SMACNA, SMART, and the ITI, is designed to raise awareness for the abundance and evolution of trade careers, skilled trade associations, and building trade unions, including SMACNA, SMART, and ITI.
The impact of the first-ever National Careers in Trades Week was widespread, with related content being featured in The Wall Street Journal, CNN, and Fox News. In addition, local outlets throughout the United States featured coverage and interviews focused on National Careers in Trades Week.
